Come along to learn about building for a more sustainable future at this free training event on Site Waste Management Plans for South East businesses.

 

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

 

The aim of the 1 day course is to provide construction companies and individuals with a detailed understanding of the principles and practices of sustainable waste management in the construction sector.

 

About Gateway to SusCon 

Gateway to SusCon will provide comprehensive green building training and education for the whole sustainable construction supply chain, including modern methods of construction and new and emerging sustainable construction technologies.

What will be on the agenda?

  • Site Waste Management Plans
  • Compliance with current legislation
  • Compliance with  future legislation
  • What constitutes a good SWMP?
  • Sustainable procurement and waste management
  • Management systems and standards
  • SmartWaste Demonstration
  • Guest speaker from Business Perspective

When can I attend?

The dates and venues for the events are as follows: 

1 -    23rd September – Newhaven Enterprise Centre

2 -    18th October – Guildford YMCA

3 -    24th  November - Portsmouth Highbury College

4 -    16th  December - Oxford Trinity College

 

Eligibility to attend the course: 

Attendees, if not in employment, must;

  •  live in the south east of England – please check with Remade South East if you are not sure
  • have an interest / background in construction, sustainability, biodiversity etc.
  • must be in stages 1 -3 of the Job Centre process (not be receiving help from funded bodies e.g. Maximus, YMCA etc)
  • not have previously attended a SusCon event *

* in some circumstances a delegate may be able to re attend if they are able to introduce a new delegate to the event.

 

Attendees in employment must; 

 

  • live and / or work in the south east of England – please check with Remade South East if you are not sure
  • not work for a public body (councils, government, educational establishments, housing associations etc)
  • be employed by a small of medium sized business (less than 250 employees)
  • have an interest/ background in construction, sustainability, biodiversity etc
  • not have previously attended a SusCon event *

* in some circumstances a delegate may be able to re attend if they are able to introduce a new delegate to the event who complies with the above.
